Seal Hunting... shamefully disgusting.

Just watched a TV documentary on the commercial seal hunting in Canada. Did you know that the annual quota for hunting seals was 350000 / year? So basically, from 2003-05: more than a million seals were killed. From watching the documentary, hunters used picks and clubs to knock out the seals, clubbing them repeatedly they bleed to death... totally disgusting. An even more horrendous act is that 98.5% of the seals killed were two months old or younger. How ironic that Canadians boasts a humane society yet engages in such intolerable and barbaric actions. The stupid Canadian seal hunt occurs every late March, so it's only around 2 days away, i really hope legislation can do something to stop this... something right for a change.
With googling around, here's some website crusades against seal massacres, please sign the partition here, here or here. There's only 2 days left to hopefully stop this madness!

Horseshoe Valley Outing...

I'm exhausted... Today we went to Horseshoe Valley to enjoy the last outing of Winter activities. The party of 7 headed out around 9am, after chowing down some quick breakfast. Upon arriving, we were fooling around on the Baby / Green hills; then proceeded further down the rides. Woohoo, i had my first dose of Black Diamond hills today... part of the reason why i'm dead tired now... i fell 3-4 times on those hills... scary... special thanks to Keith for keeping an watchful eye. We played till 4:00 where the hills were getting icy, and weather getting a bit cold so we headed back to the villa to return back to TO (who would've guessed? there were actually lots of snow today!). Anyways, i'm off to bed to replenish my HP... lol

Another weekend lu!

Back from B5 nite with the guys. Although I bought a new chocolately wine to try, it didn't fill me up at all so I was starving for food. I was also unsuccessful in persuading the gang out to have beef brisket noodles with me. Ended up heading home and slapping together stuff i was able to find around the house - noodles, eggs, sausage, vegies, seeweed, and Jap dried fish (apparently, these dried fish is found in all the dishes in Japan, it's like Jap soy sauce or MSG to them).
Anyways, here's a treat for you ice-cream lovers; let's see if you can guess correctly what flavours these ice cream are ;)
A. Albalone
B. Deep Sea Water
C. Crab
D. Chicken Wing
E. Sea Eel
F. Catcus

JDrama - Engine

Just finished watching Jdrama 'Engine' (エンジン) recently. It features Kimura Takuya that you might have heard about from masterpeices like 'Long vacation' or 'Love generation'; however, this time he is a F3 racer in Japan. The series focuses not only him being a racer, but also the interaction between his "family" in the foster home. It's a very heart-warming series showing how the foster children comes to term with themselves as they undergo mutal character development and growth along with Takuya acting as a big kid himself. I find the series too short and longed for more towards the end; but in general, it's a very good series if you enjoy Jdrama.
Another surpirse in the series is Ueno Juri who plays the siderole of one of the elder foster children. I really enjoy her acting, expressions, and character development in the series. Juri is a very pretty actress and I'm fully looking forward to her future casting in upcoming Jdrama series like 'Swing Jazz Girl' (next installment) in Fall 2006 ;)

Perfect Weekend

This weekend was nice and very relaxing :) After getting some sleep from last nite's partie, went to tea, washed my car and shopped around with the gang. I finally got my pair of ski boots; and had to goto several stores to find the sizes as most are gone already... Can't wait to try them out! but the weather is getting nice lately... ha ha, dunno if i should complain or not :p

Corries' Dessert Nite

Looks yummy lei... Thanks Corrie for inviting us (the noisy bunch - tot:9) over for a great dessert night gathering! There were 4 types of dessert that the coconut made for us to enjoy; and i liked the Fruitcake one of the most... ha ha... Aside from lots and lots and lots of alcohal, we also played a game called 'Cranium', a mind-twisting yet fun board game. We were laughing throughout the night doing funky dances and molding crazy characters... Too bad my phone camera didn't capture the pics as well for the funny playdoh, maybe i can steal some off Ka/Kevin and post it here later :p Thanks for organizing it - it was a fun fun nite!

Fridays Babylon night

Just got back from pig's place... ha ha.... yeah, you guessed right... after watching a dose of good'ol B5 again. Mmm... it's somewhat turning into a tradition now :) Afterwards, was goggling up and chatting over ICQ pondering if I should get the WhiteStarFleet from the series (shown left). It costs 125USD for a 11" model, the details aren't really in depth and I guess it requires a very good paint job to make it look nice... Mmmm... too bad there's very very few companies that makes it.
